OLD – 2022 CODE ACADEMY

Join us for the 2022 AIA Corpus Christi Code Academy!
The AIA Corpus Christi annual Code Academy, bringing in a large number of architect members of the AIACC chapter, as well as other built environment profes­sionals through the region, provides eight hours of HSW continuing education credits necessary for architects to maintain their licensure. The all-day Code Academy includes breakfast and lunch.

AIA Corpus Christi is excited to have Bob Schutz returning once again. His knowledge of the IBC is unmatched and his delivery is always interesting and enjoyable. This year’s class will provide a provocative and higher level of review of the 2021 International Building Code, including a focus on unusual and more complex provisions of the code.
A few topics to be discussed:
  • continue to identify differences between 2021 IBC and prior versions of the IBC
  • discuss the IEBC (International Existing Building Code)
  • means of egress section
  • discuss the adoption of accessibility requirements contained in ICC A 117.1
  • comply with requirements for building classification, occupancy and safety
  • explore structural design requirements
  • examine various code requirements
This class is intended for those professionals that have an understanding of the basic provisions of the International Building Code.
Attendees will earn 7 LU/HSW
