HELP SHAPE YOUNG MINDS
Volunteer for the TexPREP Young Architects Program
AIA Corpus Christi is partnering with TexPREP (Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program) once again this summer. We are looking for AIACC volunteers to engage high school & middle school aged students in this summer educational course. There are 8 class dates available, Mondays and Wednesdays, throughout the month of June. The class time is from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at Del Mar College Oso Creek Campus. You can sign up for one day or all 8; it is up to you! This is your opportunity to shape young minds in a positive way and foster a new generation of architects from our community.
We are asking for you to seriously consider volunteering this year. This program can only continue with the help of volunteers, so we are reaching out to all AIACC members for help. Please try to participate, even if only for one day. Please encourage everyone in your office, especially the young professionals to participate. AIA Emeritus members are welcome. If you have any questions, you can contact Sheldon Schroeder, AIA, the AIACC chairman of this year’s TexPREP committee. He needs your help to continue to make this a successful program. You will find the syllabus and sign-up sheet attached. The sign-up sheet describes what you will be doing each day. Please let me know when you can volunteer as soon as possible. June 1st is right around the corner, so AIACC needs to start out with a BANG!!
Location/Classroom: Del Mar College Oso Creek Campus-STEM Building – Room ST-136 (See attached map)
Meeting Times: Mondays and Wednesdays 11:30 – 1:00pm (A $10 Gift Card will be provided for lunch)
